Roget

The vocabulary used by YOLO9000 is a thesaurus: a hierarchical glossary. Each term forms a tree that contains the words that depend on it semantically. For this replacement, another famous thesaurus has been used, the one drawn up in 1805 by Peter Mark Roget, a British physician, natural theologian and lexicographer. Roget’s Thesaurus is an epi-
stemological work that contains concepts related to existence, change, reasoning and the emotions, an abstract repertoire that contrasts with the concrete terms of YOLO9000. In this exercise, the ‘person’ label is replaced by the term ‘orthodoxy’, or bundles of banknotes are labelled ‘physical pleasure’.
